OUR CURRENT EXHIBIT
3x4x5    A Unique Look
Platinum Prints by Ian Leake

June 23 - August 3, 2009

Our next gallery show features a conceptual presentation of the images of Photo Continuum member Ian Leake.  Ian tells us, "I've been planning a set of handmade artist's books for a while now, and I am using these as the basis for the exhibit."  The three different books will be released in only six limited-edition copies of each.  These 7"x7" books have between six and ten beautifully executed and themed 4x5 platinum prints in each one.   Ian's show will have three sections, with each section presenting the sequence of platinum prints in one of the books.  This leads to the show's title  "3x4x5   A Unique Look."

Beginning June 23 and running through August 3, we invite you to share in Ian's vision and take notice of his special craftsmanship in what I would describe as "high-key" printing.  From the very beginning of a photo session, Ian works with his models as partners, collaborating as a team to accomplish the final prints which we see presented.  We think this series attains that certain photographic approach that celebrates life and femininity.

Platinum/Palladium Workshop for Cameras Large & Small
Ray Bidegain & Patrick Kolb
Inversnaid Photography Centre, Scotland

June 14-19,2009

Stay at a
romantic hunting lodge near Loch Lomond in Scotland while studying platinum/palladium print making. Over six days, you will master the skills necessary to produce fine platinum/palladium prints at a reasonable cost.

For most of the history of platinum printing, photographers needed large-camera negatives. While we follow and honor that tradition, we are also able to use negatives from smaller cameras and digital files to make platinum prints. During this workshop, we present additional instruction in the making of enlarged digital negatives for platinum printing. Come learn this contemporary approach to this timeless process.

Price of £718 includes
VAT, all accommodations and meals, and tuition during workshop. Chemicals and paper are extra to fee, allow approximately £30. Class is limited to eight participants.
