“After 50 years of photography, I find myself drawn to the most elemental of techniques, pinhole photography, but subminiature, and other eclectic cameras also hold particular fascination. The limitations of these cameras free the mind to explore the most direct relationship between eye and subject. I print large inkjet digital negatives, and contact print them onto platinum/ palladium emulsion.
Landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes comprise much of my work, especially long pinhole exposures that allow me to wrest an ethereal nostalgia from contemporary scenes. I shoot mainly in the Pacific Northwest, but I also enjoy the challenges of urban photography in Manhattan and other major cities.”
