I have taken hundreds, probably even thousands, of pictures of my daughters, Laura and Elena, in the elusive pursuit to capture a fragment of their true selves, not just the façade the camera typically sees.

My hope is that these images go beyond portraying specific children and become symbols of childhood at large; that they capture not only the beauty and innocence many people see, but also a child’s constant evaluation of her environment in an attempt to define her own personality.

By its very nature, this body of work is ongoing and ever-changing, just as my daughers themselves.
